Kernel Oil

As the name suggests, palm kernel oil is extracted from the kernel of the oil palm fruit through cold pressing. It’s not the same as but is related to palm oil which is from the fruit’s fleshy part. It has no cholesterol or trans fats but contains a very high chemical composition of fatty acids, mainly lauric and myristic acids. This amber-colored oil is widely used for hair and skin care, while its sharp melting point makes it useful for commercial cooking purposes.

Safety & Precautions

There are no widely reported side effects of kernel oil but just like any medicine or edible plant, taking too much of it may not be ideal.
